Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "An unusual meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and monstrous transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The plot features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Content
Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's newest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
